There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

Put a bit of paper over the serial stamp and scribble on it with pencil.

Re: NTD: New ESP telecaster day!
yea, the old ESP stuff had ESP branded tuners, ESP branded Saddles on the V trems stuff like that. ESP in the 80`s bragged about having stocks of super old Maple, they have pictures of massive slabs in the 80/81 is catalogs. so an old ESP neck should have super straight grain. so straight it looks laminated. or something equally special.
don't know about the trem but Molly commented on it, I would think he would know.
48 street was a guitar store in the USA in the early 80`s, ESP assembled guitars out of imported parts for custom orders and early ESP models. Navigator was the Japan Brand of ESP and ESP was the US brand. ESP are not at all forthcoming with this information as they prefer there marketing approved history. I reckon they don't want people looking backward rummaging for an old one when they sell perfectly good new guitars.

Had a quick Google for that logo. No luck. Fakes typically have the ‘correct’ logo though, so you’re likely ok there (says a non-expert).
I did find this. Only $19.14 to wear with the guitar. Bargain!

That's a fine looking Tele.
Haven't seen that headstock logo before but ESP definitely have a bunch of different logo designs and also Kahler trems on various artist signature models.

Re: NTD: New ESP telecaster day!
have you taken the neck off to see if anything is stamped on the bottom of the neck heal. If it has come from 48th street there will most like be a stamp on there
If Less is More Then Just Think How Much More More would be

Re: NTD: New ESP telecaster day!
Kerry King from Slayer would play that gat. He likes Kahler and ESP.
p.s. having a trem cavity and humbuckers, does it still sound like a tele?
Teles are weird like that. They can come in all kinds of configs but often still sound like a Tele. i dunno why.

Re: NTD: New ESP telecaster day!
if you like how it feels but it isn't bright enough (i.e not enough treble) put some stainless steel strings on it......adds a load of "zing" for cheapFrey wrote:Kerry king wouldn't like the pickups, they seem to be pretty PAFish. Ie. not enough treble for me, I'm a treble fiend so I might not end up keeping it but lets see how we get along when it comes back.

Because if any other guitar is a good example, it will sound like a Tele.Aquila Rossa wrote: Teles are weird like that. They can come in all kinds of configs but often still sound like a Tele. i dunno why.
Gibson
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.
