This guy doesn't know his guitar at all. Rosewood laminate, not mahogany. And the 'pearl' is plastic. It could be pretty nice but I'd lay a bet it's not as good as my Tama. (Which is an even higher spec model).Frey wrote:https://www.trademe.co.nz/music-instrum ... 895801.htm
I had a tama and it was one of the nicest acoustic guitars I've ever heard, this one is a higher model so it must be even better, right? that's the logic of playing collectable guitars I guess.
Hey there Frey, I’m looking at selling my Gibson J-50 (1969 - 1970) if that’s of interest to you. I have an Ibanez that will always be my number 1 and a Gibson LG0 that’s quite cool so the J-50 can go. Can send you a few images if you like, pm me.Frey wrote:https://www.trademe.co.nz/music-instrum ... 895801.htm
Anyway I might have some money soon so I'm on the hunt for a nice acoustic.
Is there anything out there?
Hey there Rob,robnobcorncob wrote:Has that J-50 been setup for left handed playing at some point?
Indeed it would--has potential a great guitar. But I can't imagine it would intonate well until that bridge is replaced (unless you are left-handed)bbrunskill wrote:that J-50 would be a lovely thing to have!
Maybe with a right-handed bridge, it might become your number onestandardfour wrote:Yeah, that whole left hand thing has been a revelation...i'll probably take it to Rob for assessment.
I've never had any complaints about it personally but this highlights that i'm a) Not very observant and b) A bit clueless.
