Floyds are a pain in the arse. I liked the Gotoh one I had though. It used to behave itself. Get what you pay for perhaps. Never liked those Jackson licensed trems. Ibby ones are good too.

When changing strings I prefer to have a little strip of wood to slip in the back of the trem to keep it more or less level. That way I can take all the strings off to clean stuff.

For playing I do not block them, but I did consider a tremolo-no gadget to give me options. I do not have a gat with a trem any more. If I do get one it will be a Strat with a six screw trem blocked, because getting a Les Paul to sound like one is next to impossible.

Only time I miss one is playing stuff like The Loner by Gary Moore. Can BS it with a Les Paul except a couple of notes here and there that want a bit more wiggle. Can make up for it using pick slides and stuff. if the fingers are tuff enuf can bend lows notes up two frets and faux whammy bar effect them.
