I was also considering SD quarter pounder or DiMarzio pre b1. Unfortunately ESP is not an option

you know: Appetite for Destruction is all ESP Telly. I should have bought that Thompson Twins owned one for $550 when I had the chance.
There are still some that think the neck PU is moved to accommodate the extra frets which only proves they cannot detect the difference in length of each.

The one in my Tele does too!

The G&L MFD pickups are nice and meaty sounding.
Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

I had a Tele with the Chopper T in the bridge and the Fast Track in the neck, the Chopper was awesome....lots of mid range but the guitar certainly lost the spank and twang you'd expect from a telecaster. That was fine with me as I was all about the fuzz back then but yeah.....Chopper T fan.

Switched to a little 59. Glad I did, it's an overwound PAF basically. Sounds awesome.
PAFs or P90s for rock, rails for metal imo. Ymmv
I have that Tone Zone T (cheers again griff!) and I bloody love it - granted, it's installed in more of a heavy rock machine than your traditional Tele; definitely not the way to go for twang. Previously I had an SD Hot Stack in there which was good, but it turns out I wanted something gruntier :mental: As many have suggested, the lil '59 could be good compromise - I've only played the big'59 I have in another guitar, and it's quite a versatile pickup IMO

Good to hear you're getting good mileage from it. To be fair, I had it in a cheap crappy guitar, didn't do it justice probably.
