Where to get quality instrument cable wire in NZ?

Post by Zaulkin »

Hey guys,

I want to make 1 or 2 long instrument cables - 10m or so - to connect my pedalboard to my amp. I have good quality G&H connectors and techflex, and I know how to make a good cable. The only thing is, I don't have any lengths of wire left.

I made all my old cables with Mogami W2524, but damn it is expensive by the time you ship it here. Jansen sells some well priced Proel stuff, but I have no idea if it's any good or not.

I watched that epic cable video with 79 patch cables, but it's hard even to know specifically what brand of cable is being used. Even after all that testing, I personally haven't had any problems with any cables, as long as they weren't dead cheap.

tl;dr, where do I get good cable wire? Should I just go for the Proel cable from Jansen?

Thanks Ben. Canare has been great for my patch cables.

Any thoughts on this? I'd be able to get 10m for a pretty reasonable price.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.
