Like Ed I also have been looking for one of these for years. Great looking guitars. However check the weight. Most of them at 11 pounds.

Just how rare are they to demand a premium over say a Trad or gloss Standard? At $3k it remains too expensive imo.

And personally I always prefer satin finishes to gloss so for me that's a definite plus.

I'd get a photo of it face on, and from an angle neck down. Most flames are strongest looking from only one angle, which is usually the one chosen by the photographer.

Almost purchased this guitar last year when Rob was culling the herd and looking for quick cash flow, I can't quite remember the price but it was much closer to the 2k mark from memory. It does come with some 'provenance' for being included in a Guitar Magazine issue where they showed off his collection.
