Neck blanks? Roasted / torrefied maple etc

Post by Zaulkin »

Where can I get a nice neck blank these days?

I like the look of the roasted maple ones but they are pretty expensive.

Ideally I'd be after something that is strong, suitable for a fender style guitar (telecaster), and that is a bit darker than your traditional maple. I don't care about flame or birdseye figure - plain is fine.

Stew Mac? I know Willow had some contacts. Or maybe I need to see if Ash still sells stuff.

are you after neck wood or fretboard? Adrian will have some maple fretboard blanks. I have some maple that would do full necks. It is nothing "special" just plain old maple

If you want an aged maple look I have some stain that nails it perfectly

Yeah, after a full neck blank. Some advice on stain would be cool. What are you using? Might have to ask Adrian. What's one if those worth?

I just like that slightly aged / brown look.
