NGD Suhr Classic Antique
Many many thanks to Kiwiaxe for this great guitar and a nice little jam session in his studio through his Kemper
The Classic Antique really is next level! I've owned a Suhr Classic Pro and it was good and like a few others here have wondered if it's worth the extra $$$ for the antique. The answer is YES! I loved my 30 year old Fender Blackie with lollars, but this antique slays! The feel of a vintage instrument without the vintage issues, toan of the gods! This beast is strung with 11s and feels like it was made for 11s.
Here's the exact same guitar if you wanna hear how it sounds, can't figure out how to embed it

I also got the privilege to play his Xotic Strat, and my oh my, for the price point that will eat ALL your Fender Custom Shop Strats for breakfast lunch and dinner. It KILLS in ALL aspects! BUt let's leave that for another thread as it will totally steal the limelight from this

Yes a very stunning one too but seemed like even if you had the cash for it there’s zero chance of buying it and you’ll have to wait in line too!Conway wrote:Was there a blue one floating around there? Re: NGD Suhr Classic Antique
Glad to hear you are loving it
I do agree that it seems to want 11s. I’ve never wanted to play gauges greater than 10 before but that Suhr just shines with the 11s. Also totally agree that pro vs antique in these guitars is like the difference between cars:
- Fender strats = Toyota
- Suhr Classic Pro = Audi
- Suhr Classic Antique = Audi RS6

You are always welcome to come around, have a coffee and tinker on the blue Xotic. But I can’t see her ever leaving my stables! Mind you, whilst not blue, you do have to try my other Xotic. It’s rather special.Conway wrote:Hold on, I think I get automatic first dibs on anything blue!KNNZ wrote:Yes a very stunning one too but seemed like even if you had the cash for it there’s zero chance of buying it and you’ll have to wait in line too!Conway wrote: Was there a blue one floating around there? You too are welcome to have coffee and a jam. I’ve got two Suhr Antiques and two Xotics (an SSS and a HSS of each brand) so you get to really compareZaulkin wrote:Xotic guitars and the classic antique are on my list to try at some point.
I do enjoy my Toyota Strat though.

Might have to take you up on that sometime. You can try my modern and see if it's as good as the ones you've played.Kiwiaxe wrote:You too are welcome to have coffee and a jam. I love Strats / Suhr classics because they do that throaty blues thing that only a Strat style guitar seems to be able to do.
