Pickup selecting guitar

Post by AiRdAd »

Most of you have probably seen this, as it popped up on all of the Namm 2019 feeds.

It's a guitar with selectable pickups. Cheap too - only $16,000 US

You know when I was a kid all I wanted was one of those pens that let you select from one of 10 different colours, still want one today, if only for nostalgia reasons, this, not so much.

Yes I did too, but when I finally got one I discovered it was actually shit as a pen.

Suspect it might be a similar case with this guitar too.
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

That's good... it actually keeps the per-pound cost down coz... well... you know... that's how we value guitars, right?

I strikes me that you could achieve much of the same effect with a single pickup guitar and a half decent effects unit. Probably cost less that $1000 NZD all up if you shopped smart.
