Modern guitars with baseball bat necks

Post by quyet »

I played an old Italian guitar with a stupidly large baseball bat neck and loved it, but it was a bit rubbish otherwise.

Are there any low/mid-range modern options that I might find in the guitar shops here that aren't more than $2k?

Maybe get a generic tele and replace the neck... is that what people do?

Perhaps, but everything I play requires the thumb over the neck, sometimes on the E and A strings at once. I like the U necks that have a thin width but thick depth if that makes sense...

Makes perfect sense. I built a tele and hollowbody with just such a neck. It is not mainstream but I really like the feel.

That's not a neck, that's a bridge pile.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.
