The Slash-Ed vs. Robnobcorncob mini gearfest

Post by robnobcorncob »

Ed has the photos, It was guitar mania. Some very cool A/B testing to be witnessed.

We had the....

PRS Custom 22
ESP Eclipse
Fender Japan floyd rose fat strat
Bling-tastic Peavey Vandenberg V-Type
ASH Kelly Custom
PRS Singlecut
Twang-tastic G&L ASAT Tele

The Singlecut is way more traditional (build wise) than my Eclipse but that was to be expected. Sounds massive but it surprisingly lighter than I thought it would be. Ballsier than my Custom 22 which I also expected but some very cool tones. Love those "#7" Pickups

Now bring on the Welly gearfest 8)

Worked on the Strat today, dodgy switch seems to have fixed itself, cleaned the fretboard + new strings + raised the pickups (they were mega low) and DAMN the bridge humbucker is powerful as. Single coils sound massive too. Stoked, thanks for the trade Ed 8)

but your Kelly in that rack is a damn fine object
Hurdy Gurdy.... some how... and I'm not entirely certain how mind you, an instrument that sounds like someone has shoved a nest of angry hornets into a goose with a kazoo bill and is randomly slapping the poor creature with an accordion.... Sounds amazing.
