There's a kit at Eclipse already, but it's in another room. I think we can drag it out for use but then there may be less space for guitars, etc.Polar Bear wrote:does someone normally turn up with a drum kit so I can play guitar...?

Nah, the Wellie gearfest is probably the only thing left that doesn't happen in AKL.Aquila Rosso wrote:Could have the next wellie gear fest in auckland for a nice change

Hurdy Gurdy.... some how... and I'm not entirely certain how mind you, an instrument that sounds like someone has shoved a nest of angry hornets into a goose with a kazoo bill and is randomly slapping the poor creature with an accordion.... Sounds amazing.

I know I said earlier in the thread that I could bring a drummer friend but that is no longer a possibility sadly.
I'm always keen to have a bash on the drums, my lack of chops won't stop me.

Me too, I can play drums passably now and would happily do so if there was a kit.robnobcorncob wrote:I know I said earlier in the thread that I could bring a drummer friend but that is no longer a possibility sadly.

Re: Wellington Gearfest Poll
We can get eclipse but he's hiked the price up to $180 for both rooms. We'd also have to pay up front.
I'm happy to pay and have people reimburse me on the day but I think we should agree on a per head fee with any surplus going to the forum.

Great plan. It's also a good way of knowing who's gonna turn up or not.benderissimo wrote:We can get eclipse but he's hiked the price up to $180 for both rooms. We'd also have to pay up front.

Yeah, I'll be into that. I'm willing to pay up to $20.

That is possibly the most 'Wellington' thing ever posted on this forum.mr_sooty wrote:Nobody seemed to have a problem with my lack of deodorant at the last gearfest. I reckon deodorant is just one of those things marketing companies have convinced us we need. It was making me itch so I stopped using it. I shower every day, and I can't tell the difference. I wonder if it really even does anything.

Actually that^ is probably the most Auckland thing posted on the forum. Sooty is obviously just not a very sweaty guy, some guys are sweatier than others...
