Hmm ok, saw this guy who played on Queens wharf with some mad acoustic skills and kinda looked like you.

I have it on good authority that next time there will be moar metal. So plan ahead and make sure to feed your family lots of medicine and pills to keep them healthy during the next gearfest. :)
They were fine back in May... :?

Hey, if you want to meet up say the word - I work in town and could easily pop out for a coffee.

It was cool to meet some new faces, Polar Bear, Rog and Hamburglar.

My Faves:
Ham's Rickenbacker was super sweet, not a 12 string but still had that classic Ric bright chime. Into my rig it was really, really floating my boat.

Totally loved the tone from AlanP's 5e3, specially when Sooty was rockin' his mad blues chops through it.

Also PB's AC30, I have a major soft spot for Vox amps and with stereo vintage delay from my TimeFactor it did sound pretty amazing.

Was just a good day of hanging and jamming!

Actually, props to some of the less experienced guys.
AlanP and Tekhammer haven't been playing as long as some of us, and we all know how intimidating it can be to play in a group setting. But both those dudes jammed out with confidence and killer toanz, so kudos to yous-ous.

And thanks to my employer, Elim Church, for lending a ragtag bunch of guitarist's their venue for next to nothing.

I dunno, I just played some chords as rhythm for the better attendees to build upon. The closest I got to widdly playing was mucking around with D chords partway through. Even then I just asked Ben what chords to play, my tin ears couldn't pick out what you were already playing in :D

Mr Brunskill kept playing a catchy riff and it took me some time to remember what song it was from.
I copied it and I now play a Michael Jackson song intro. Never thought THAT would ever happen.... still I suppose it was really an EVH riff?

There was one cool thought (well it was cool to me, 'cos it reflected my own ideals - LOL) that came from the gathering. I heard at least two people whom I respect saying words along the line of: You don't have to pay BIG money to have gear that sounds great.

I think Beat It is the riff in question here. I can't remember if the riff was Eddie's or just the solo.

Define big money :) the cost for my amp was a decent chunk of change, to me.

Big money on an amp (to me) would be more than $2000
Mind you, in the instance I was thinking of, they were talking about geetars.

Only the solo is EVH; the rest of the song is Steve Lukather, who has always been a bit miffed about how EVH came in and stole his thunder.
