Cool mistype ... and after ten tries, I can't say the mistype name out aloud.Jenesis wrote:Name fixed, because jermemy is a spaz.
Minor nit pick ... it's not a razorback model ... the razorback model has the 'razor' in the top of the body ... ala the bottom models here ... http://www.deanguitars.com/dimebag_seri ... blightningJenesis wrote: Looks like a good time guys, some nice gear there. Still trying to get my head around that left-handed Razorback though...
Yup - that's me and my pal Steve or little stevie vai as I like to call him. In Auckland airport when I was 26. I'm not 26 anymore.

Amp of the day for me was the Maz 18; pity it died before I got to have a wail on it.
Guitar of the Day for me was Dr Marv's Tele. Such a lovely thing, keen on getting one again. Close second was Kelly's Epi.
Anything Ash had involvement with was impressive; those proper ASH guitars felt like a craftsman's guitar. Just stunning.
Player of the day had to be Kelly, awesome chops, sweet tones and such a nice, unassuming, humble guy. Dude just wanted to play.
Moustache of the day goes to h3x3d

That was a lovely guitar to look at, and produced great sounds when Kelly played it as welltonymcbony wrote:Close second was Kelly's Epi.
I really like Terexgeek's Yamaha as well, loved the "art deco" styling.

Probably part of the reason why his chops were better than ours ha.Terexgeek wrote:He's not, yet.slash-ed wrote:Who is Kelly, on the forum?

Guttered I couldn't stay longer, wanted to hear the zt club. The holden amp got the mojo award for me, tres cool. Also liked Jeremy's tele, didn't think I would like the green, and I don't really in the photo that has been posted, nice in person though. Also the fender copies were pretty fantastic. Radian tele was awesome.
Ok I got rid of my Foal quote, but I found a new one.

Kelly (back to the camera) and TonyMcB playing Kelly's Epi, Pete and DrMarv in the background:
H3X3D and jermemy debate the most effective way of changing the Ltd headstock to a Tele-shape, OMG it's effing loud ZT Club, Kdawg's Class 5 and creation's in the background:
RuBear and Kdawg admiring the Radian through the Class 5:
The good DrMarv, who very kindly lent the space, thanks heaps! I really dug the sound of the Holden Wasp, totally unwasp-like, rich warm sparkling tones, and the Concord next the Wasp was damn nice too. Cdog and Sty in deep discussion in the background.
Cdog and Sty, in spite of the fine selection of guitar related goodness in front of them, are captivated by the refreshing takeaway beverage on Sty's amp.
Some untidy git left this crap lying around, the nerve of some people:
RuBear's Heilo, it even smells great!
RuBear's Greenstone Bellbird, the first of the two we got to see and hear, it smelled like an amp but it sounded brilliant:
Cdog putting the Heilo Ash sent for the 'fest through it's paces:
Nightmare's rig, Dean and RuBear's Heilo. TonyMcB attempts to hide the fact he can afford footwear now he's sold the SMMHs by hiding behind DrMarv's legs in the background, oh and TonyMcB's guitarist taming rig:
Who left this junk here? Better send it all to me; Kelly's Bellbird, Epi, pedalboard partially hidden and pete_currie's Dr Z, Ibanez Artcore, pedalboard (with epic power supply):
RuBear; Radian Tele and Bellbird, glad I got to hear the combination, Fan-bloody-tastic:
DrMarv's very cool sounding rig with part of the Death Star's main control panel in the background:
Sty's handcrafted V, I didn't properly run it through it's paces at the time, but I'll come back to it fo sho, Zakk Epi and Marshall TSL601 and oh so comfy if "interesting" smelling sofas:
jermemy's tele with no flash with edge of Heilo:
jermemy's tele with no flash close-up with attractive footwear modelled (no smell test conducted):
jermemy's tele with flash close up and flashy footwear modelled:
Kdawg rocking the A minor on his main workhorse:
Jeremy showing he's no spazz with his green tele, note the rawkous 12 inches of ZT Club peeking in the corner of the shot:
Jeremy proudly scratching his initials into his guitar to show it's his:
TonyMcB set to pwn any guitarists daring to occupy his or indeed any sonic space, his rig sounds great but can only be excelled by a 747 for dynamic range. P.S. Look he's got footwear!!!:
TonyMcB setting the controls for the heart of the sun, with the sounds of a P bass throttling an interstellar Hammond:
TonyMcB preparing for a new pedal by selling his footwear:

Re: CHCH Gearfest 13th November -Confirmed
A quick round of thank youse to:
DrMarv, allowing us to use the space, sharing his rig and cool pedals (dig the Crazy Horse), cleaning up the place ready for us, cleaning up and bringing your barbeque and moving everything around so we'd fit, thanks!
Ash, thank you for the Radian Tele and the ASH Heilo, they were played and enjoyed and I really appreciate you freighting them down specifically for us all, thanks! Anyone too shy or unable to hear the Radian Tele or ASH Heilo please pm me and I'll arrange some playing time for you.
Kelly, to show up to event with a bunch of strangers, bringing your gear and playing thanks!
To everyone who brought their gear, thanks!
To everyone who came along, thanks!
For anyone I've forgotten, I'm sorry, let me know and I'll fix it.

I suspect Dr Marv is Indie Music Legend Marcus Winstanley
crikey dick
The Undercurrents "Oceans Wide" remains a genuine Chch pop song classic
we should try and get Simon Nunn along to a gear fest
