I'm sure if somebody sent a polite email to tranz-metro/kiwirail (WTF are they called) and linked them to this thread they'd happily put an extra carriage on the Wairarapa line for your gear.

Aye. They're double tracking the line up to Waikanae and beyond, it's been 'big news' out these ways for ages now. I bet the moment it opens the fares will go up and the service will be few and far between, trains late and breaking down continually.

I just drive everywhere, it's cheaper and twice as fast.

Hey, wasn't planning to but sure can. It's getting a bit lonely, it doesn't have that many pedals to play with any more...
