Re: Wellington gearfest: Sunday 10 April
yo!
so yes the Sat was booked up.
The venue is the Whitireia Performance Centre...but the signage is not up yet so look for
THINKTANK House
25 Vivian St
its on the right hand side opposite the apartment block about 30 meters from the intersection at the end. Theres a roller door that I hope to have open with access to the lifts etc, and theres some parking on level 2. theres also some parking thats actually a mechanic next door...but they seem cool as they are usually closed on the weekends.
If we use downstairs the door is straight off the lobby. nice big space (about 8 x 15 meters ish)..but its pretty reverby. Ill check out if the theatre is in use (if theres a set on stage then its a no go zone) or we can use level 3 which has smaller dryer rooms.

I'll be there with mostly new stuff except for ye old faithful Ash custom. I'll probably only bring one amp so I can bring the Tweaker if anyone is keen on trying it out, or I can bring the Marshall Vintage Modern for when shit gets manly

I'll bring the JCM800, but it'll most likely only get manly when someone else plays through it.slash-ed wrote:I'll be there with mostly new stuff except for ye old faithful Ash custom. Oh, and I'll bring the cheapo P-bass, to wow Rog with what $400 will buy you new.

LOL! Yeah! Actually, it was SUCH a good call on your part!mr_sooty wrote:Didn't you actually buy that AT the last Gearfest?Vince wrote:Ok, I'll be there. Nothing new to show though. Most useful thing I've bought since last time was a capo!
I'd never owned one of those Kyser capos before, I'd always used the traditional ones shaped like a "U" with a bar across it.
With the Kyser, though, I can partially capo the strings, letting me have an open "pedal" underneath or a "balloon" string up top (kind of like the "G" on a bluegrass banjo) .
It's really expanded what I can do. My fave tuning at the moment is GCF (open) G.
Thanks again, I seldom get to spend $30 as usefully as I did that day!

Does anyone have a 3U rack case I can borrow for the day? I still haven't got one for my effects unit and associated gubbins, and I have to spend all of tomorrow's spare money on buying my tickets to Alestorm and the flights...

Re: Wellington gearfest: Sunday 10 April
Just to clarify, there is free parking onsite?
And so I look for that massive roundabout with a cricket pitch in the middle, and find Vivian Street branching off that?
How much for the koha would you like Lawrence?
