OK Ill be there at 1.00pm

264 Cuba St
its a black building with the Whitireia signs on it - set back from the street -behind where Real Groovy used to be..
We will use the Ground floor - come in and turn right
There are parks in front that belong to us.

Hi guys - sorry, I can't make this one...any chance of you moving the Wellington fest to Hamilton to save on all that pesky travelling?

But seriously, have a great time.

Might, and I mean might, get a late reprieve, depending on the timing of this thing at the zoo. Crossing fingers!

Saved by the rain! Zoo is off, so I should be good to go. Might not get there by 1pm, might be more like 2pm.

Nice to see ya again Vince and Lawrence - that little tele of Ash's was real nice to play. Good to say a brief 'hi' to hamo and scooter. Sorry I missed the rest of you good peeps. Next time.

Yeah, good to see you too. That Jazzmaster was pretty impressive! :D

Nice afternoon jamming with the Lads.

Highlights for me were:

-Tubeswells beautiful Jazzmaster - absolutely loved that guitar, lovely neck on it, nice colour, sounded great. Maybe when I turn 50 I'll be able to buy myself one.

-Rob educating me on the joys of P90's. His '59 Les Paul Special sounded freakin magic. Those Fralins are the perfect balance between fat warmth and raucous snarl. They cut through and growl and bite but never sound harsh. It's just a shame about the noise - if I could live with the hum I'd be a convert. Kinda the same deal with the Jazzmaster actually - the main reason I persist with a Strat over a JM is the availability of great sounding noiseless Strat pickups.

- Rob's Soldano - the drive channel was just killer. So much balls. Something of a pedal killer - I've never heard a pedal that sounded like that.

- Rob's - lap steel (bloody Rob, he's got all the good stuff).

- Lawrence's amaing handbuilt guitars. The man has no luthery training, yet makes guitars that could easily have come out of some fancy shmancy custom shop. They're a bit odd looking (some would say boldly original), but they're incredible to play and sound just as good.

- The blues Jam with DC, Vince, Rob and Me. Lost it's structure at various places, but was fun anyway.

Until next time.

Good to see you guys! Nice Jazzmaster Pete, gutted I didn't get a chance to plug it in but I'm sure the opportunity will arise at some stage! Some awesome Telecasters on display.

Cam - You're too kind! The Fralin P90s are out of this world. I must be used to the noise by now :) They're a bit quieter too when I'm not sitting on my amp while demoing them. I'm a P90 lover and I'm thinking a P90 Telecaster might be next! (That or a semi-hollow with P90s..)

your Dr. Z sounded killer as usual. Hamo's Blackheart sounded killer through Scott's Orange 2x12" cabinet. Phwoaaaah! Scott's Tele's are awesome!

Great to catch up with Vince, nice to hear you play again mate.

Big thanks once again to Lawrence for the use of the venue and showing us his awesome guitars.

*Edited because I got a few names mixed up haha*
