My Ears. They are burning.
Nice to meet some people I hadn't (slash-ed, sizzlingbadger, tonymcbony) as always some nice rigs there. Got a few photos, will upload later.

It was a good one, eh? And that Radian bass was lovely.

Re: Wellington August 2012 gearfest
Would have been nice to go, but after six hours OT starting at 6am, I really wasn't up to the drive
So agreed with Daz, I want photos to live vicariously through.

Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...

It was amazing though, I don't think I saw a single actual strat today. Quite a few Teles though.

Re: Wellington August 2012 gearfest
Absolutely mint afternoon out, thanks fellas. Ears are ringing, various underused muscles are aching, and I'm knackered: all the signs of a classic gearfest.
OMIGODLOUDNESS. I always forget to take hearing protection to these things.
Where to begin? Nice to meet TMcB, sizzlingbadger and son, and Hamburgla and to see all those guys I've met before.
Gear. All of it. Gearfests seem to make my own gear sound better too. But playing Scott's LP and SV, Ed's new ASH and the PRS Studio he had there (which sounded lurvely through the AFD and Dark Terror respectively), TMcB's Ryan-made 18w through Scott's Orange Quad, sizzlingbadger's PRS singlecut through the Dark Terror into the Orange quad, Scott's Cuba St, Hambirgla's Ricky through my Blackheart, Tubeswell's Jazzmaster through all his homebrew creations (OMGTONE) - and this is just the gear I got to play!
Polarbear cranking (almost to 2!) the AC30 was earmelting stuff. Awesome to have Vince and Tony representing on the bass, and Ed throwing out the odd vocal when someone would accidentally slip into a recognisable tune. Convinving bbrunskill to strap on Scott's SV with Blackouts! Watching Lawrence play his tasty homemade creations and the inevitable feeling that I should be getting lessons. Back in high school we used to refer to that kind of player as "a muthafucka" - in a good way of course. Coffee from Midnight Espresso because Fidel's was flooded.
Four hours just sails by, it's ridiculous.
