Cheers xCapx. I was about to revive this tonight, myself.
I'll repost directions and location details from the last gear fest a little later.

Awesome, last weekend before I start my holiday job.

Just trying to recall, but other than the Bogner and the MPC amps, what else would have been high gain or loud amps that were up top, that will be in the theatre room?BG wrote:Nah, I think we tentatively thought the theatre should be the quiet room....
This time though we know the practicalities and the room with the sausages should be quiet
I had a dream last night, that everything I have got replaced with an exact replica.... (Steven Wright)

So want to be in on this, but I'm away in Hamilton that weekend at the Baptist national assembly. It's like a Trekkie convention for religious people. If you had the gearfest in Hamilton I would totally sneak out.

Re: Auckland Gearfest - November 17th
General warning for all NZG Gearfest attendees.
Guitar amps make sound. Good guitar amps make a lot of sound.
The word 'Amplify' means 'To increase, to make louder or to add to...'. It does not mean 'To reduce, to make quieter or to subtract from...'
Please bear this in mind when approaching a Gearfest venue.
There has never been a gearfest venue that was not loud. If there was, it would be called Youtube.
I will have a limited stock of earplugs available for sale on the day. Proceeds of which will go towards running costs of the Gearfest and NZG.
If the weather is fine and there are no other events on that day, we will be able to use the neighbouring beautifully shaded verandah, which was built by my great grandfather and his sons, to set up the bbq. This would make a lovely place to go to play and appreciate the un-amplified (gear-less) instruments anyone wishes to bring along.
Thank you for reading.

Its important to note that the 'quiet' room, will just be a little less deafening. So be aware and bring protection, of the sort you require.
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

just noticed this! I will double check but I'm pretty sure I can be there. I'll bring the bassman and the '71 Epi 335, and I may bring my circa 1940-50s acoustic archtop, if you guys promise to be nice to her.

Re: Auckland Gearfest - November 17th
Is anyone from Hamilton making the trip up that I can potentially grab a lift with? And has room for my AC15? I don't have any functioning electric guitars at the moment, so the AC15 is all I could bring.

Re: Auckland Gearfest - November 17th
I sold them, that's what. I have sort of half an electric at the moment, until I can afford to pay Ash to finish the rest of it! /poorstudent
