So close... but It seems I will be in the Coromandel.

Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

If I'm sleeping in the big city that night I'll come along...

Re: AK Gearfest Dates. Pick one... UPDATED POLL
Gentle men and possible women, I am THIS close to confirming the booking for the Corban Estate Art Centre venue for the 27th. I'm just a touch hesitant because the all up cost to do what we hope is around $180-200. That's actually a stupidly good deal that they are doing for me. But, I wondered if I could have a little show of hands, besides the poll, for who is committed to attend?
With 11 people in the poll saying yes, that would mean a split cost of just under $20. I'd love to get a few more so we can get that down to $15 per person. Any extra we make goes to forum costs.
Here's a refresher of the format for the day/evening. It should be great.
We kick off at 2pm and run gear fest as normal until 6pm. Gearfest will be spread across two different spaces this time. Number one is the traditional old Cellar space and for the first time we want to take the room next door. It is a nice decent sized room at the back of the main homestead building where the verandah is. It is virtually out the door and up a few steps so easy to slip between spaces but will give some isolation for the guys that want to get quiet or try out some acoustic gear.
It is well sheltered so we can set up BBQ on the verandah even if the weather is a bit shit.
Meanwhile over in the theatrette, I will be setting up a nice fat PA system and HD projection for the movie screening.
If Gearfest is wrapped up by about 6.30, we can order pizza or whatever you like for dinner, then from 7-ish, run a screening of Led Zep Celebration Day.
The theatre seats 20 people so it's a decent size but still cozy. It's a really cool room.
Things should be all done and dusted by about 10pm.
Please leave a reply if you're definitely in. And feel free to bring any friends that might want to sit in.
Lat's get heaps of you along to make this a great welcome to Ak for Slash-ed too!

I'm keen but don't know if I'll be able to stay for more than an hour or two so I might have to just make it a flying visit with just the AC4 and a Robin or two. Happy to help out with a full share of the cost though.

Similar to Ben, I'm still wasting money trying to find a new house and will most likely be doing the west open home circuit for a good chunk of Sat. I'll try and pop in for a couple of hours, but also more than happy to chuck in the money to cover costs, even if I can't make it (should be able to, just can't gaurantee it).
The older I get, the more disappointed in myself I become.

Same as previous two - will be there for a few hours and hope to bring my homemade gat and new Matai speaker cabinet if I can get a Celestion V30 before then - will contribute to costs.
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.

Re: AK Gearfest Dates. Pick one... UPDATED POLL
Hi Boys, I am pressing the big red button on the booking for Gearfest this weekend.
I have toyed with charging a set fee but decided I'd rather have as many of you as possible there, for however long you can be there.
I would still like people to contribute to costs please. They are approximately $200. Whatever amount you are comfortable with is appreciated but for those who can afford it, $15-20 would be fantastic. If you're skint, please just come anyway.
To recap, 2pm - 6pm is gearfest proper. A short break for a bite or a beer and then we kick off the screening of Led Zep Celebration Day in full glorious Hi Def 2.1 Stereo.
Feel free to bring a guest or five.
I'll link to directions from a previous gearfest thread later this evening.
Cheers bruvvas.
