Future Tronfests - venue suggestions

I'm thinking in the second half of this year we need another Tronfest - hopefully with more than 6 people.
Da Capo is officially closed as of today. I have some of the drum room wall padding in my office
Big thanks to Wayne.
We need to officially come up with a new suitable venue.
I did suggest Agora Events Centre where I go to church. HOWEVER it's just a large open room, and with many guitars and amps, it would have WAY too much noise in 1 room.
There is the up-stairs area, which again, is just 1 large room.
SO that pretty much is a no-go.
I'd say we need a venue with a similar situation to what Da Capo had - separate rooms 2-3 and 1 larger room.
Next Dilema - cost of venue.
We had a great deal with Wayne, and usually peoples donations covered the rental of the venue.
Cost will play a big part too, as if we have say 3 people show up, and it costs $200 for the day or something stupid. it's not very fair on the person organising it.
So, I leave it to you guys.
Suggest below venues you think will be suitable and cost efficient.
Si

We have a hall near us that would be pretty good. Has a large room (i.e a hall
) with a stage and a smaller kitchen/dining area thats about the same size as the main decapo room.
obviously the main problem is guys traveling from the tron (not a problem for auck guys as its half the journey it would be to the tron). If there is any interest I will find out hire cost

yep its that hireage that kills it. Great when lots of people attend and dig deep, not so good with 6 people.
I'm always happy to put small fests on here on one of the many decks surrounding our property. There wouldn't be much windage.

Bump post,
Will be cool if we could figure something out in the next few weeks, that way we could have the gearfest in July

I'll ask around and see what we have at Wintec that might be suitable.

I checked and I could get up to 5 classrooms on the same level of 'A' block (which is one of the more modern ones). Could be a bit pricey though at $115 (inc. GST) per room per day.

jeez louise thats expensive lol - De Capo was around $80-100 for the whole day for every room lol..
Wintec would only work if everyone forked out at least $30 each and we had like 6-9 people 100% commit..

how big are the rooms and would you need more than one?
The 1st Auckland gearfests @ clockwork were always my favourite with all the gear in one big room. Ideal for some round the room show and tells when things were organised, and some epic 10+ guitarist jams - the room had a drumkit, PA and bass rig in it too.
Don't mean to be scrooge mcduck, but after gas money to the tron, and beer money, $30 would break my budget for a gearfest day.

Yeah I was hoping they would give me no/low price but I don't really know the guy who manages the venue hire...I might try another angle but that's the best I've got at the mo.
