I also drink a lot, and have issues with distinguishing between reality and fantasy. I'll check the Italian cooking forum I also visit daily, but fear this is the slippery slope into madness.

It looks like a chunk/sliver of the headstock behind the nut may have cracked/broken off at some point, but it wasn't a complete snap. It's hard to verify from the crap pics though.
Nonetheless, not worth the money or the risk. I offered a lower amount but he would rather relist. From a vague "collector's" point of view, I'd say any prospective buyers should still be very wary, but from a player's POV, it looks like it's been fixed okay. But again, hard to say without seeing it in person.

Seems to me that 2.7K for a 60's 335, even one that is non-original and has been damaged and repaired, is still a good deal - is it not?

They sell on ebay for between $2k and $3k in good condition.
