geez and i thought the JJ KT-88's were bad enough
Hurdy Gurdy.... some how... and I'm not entirely certain how mind you, an instrument that sounds like someone has shoved a nest of angry hornets into a goose with a kazoo bill and is randomly slapping the poor creature with an accordion.... Sounds amazing.

I used to import mine from Tubedepot.com, kept them a bit more reasonable :) But hey, you pay for the tone :D

and the stupidly loud volume :D
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

$1000 US would go a long way to buying a whole new amp. Thats rediculous.

And those are yankee dollas - lucky I can't afford to buy any yankee dollas right now, otherwise I'd be tempted to spend too much money. So anyhoo, what I did find a couple of months back for NZ$10 was a Telefunken ECC83, because I said to the lady in the store, "hey this tube doesn't have a box - I'll give ya 20 bucks for both it and the other one (a Marconi 12AX7) not in a box " and luckily she was the store minder so she agreed. Its got mostly all the original markings and the diamond in the base. (But I can't tell anyone which shop I found it in sorry). I haven't tried out yet, cos I'm savin' it for my next amp. (I just had to share that to piss somebody off).

(Edit - I originally was thinking it cost me $20 for the TF alone, but then I remembered I bought another tube with it for a total price of $20)

Why bother retubing? You could just buy another amp instead!
