Still looks cheap and nasty to me...
SACRILIDGE!!! I saw a Poster of BOB DYLAN playing one of those P90 gold tops on a wall in Christchurch once! I recall it clearly - unfortunately :D

Actually I saw the Scorsese film on Dylan recently and consequently wondered why we ever bothered back in the 60's as he was that crap! Must have been some POWERFUL weed around :D

I love how the Man (Les Paul) is rarely photographed with one of those goldtops, or the humbucking equipped model!!! mostly he used the low impedence ones with the black plastic pups. So much for using your famous invention eh.
You can't do THAT on stage!

*UNIQUE* wrote: Yes it's a Les Paul Special, but not a that model...this looks to be a VOS re-issue. So not P-100's but P-90's (100's are humbuckers, P-90's are single coil). They are totally great guitars - simple, resonant, feel good, sound rock n roll! VOS are still big $ - maybe $2.5-3K for this second hand? Easiest way to tell from the normal special line and the VOS is a wrap around tail piece and gloss finish for the VOS. Up to 2003=ish there was a gloss non VOS available but st.ill had the T-O-M

Here's mine, a real '57, with a big fat honky neck and sound.
