Second installment: Gibson Patent Number sticker T-Tops, early 70's.

Here's what the unanswered question says:
"I do know the value. These are not PAFs. They are Patent Number t tops. In nice condition I might add. But don't believe me, check selling (not listing) prices for these on the web. I received some 60s ones last week. Best wishes and I am keen, but at market price"
So, I am now drafting my bogus auction. The bait likely to be a '56 LEs Paul Special. The commentary likely to be cutting.

Re: Vintage guitar rant
Only after I spent all my money on other Gibsons did she decide to do this. In her defense she has been discussing this with me...I just cannot fron tup with the cash, and I still think $8K is at the top end of things.

Re: Vintage guitar rant
On to more interesting things Grant; tell us about the new Lester with the supermodel top. Did I see a picture of it at the Tronfest?
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

I think that's a thread in itself. Some interesting tidbits though...
- Dan Erlewhine himself has worked on this guitar
- It was famous for its top and the horendously overpriced initial sell price
- It has the first iteration Stephens Design pickups in it...before he was renowned
- It needs work - which is scheduled in for the winter
- It is a rock machine

New Thread; all the goss please
As I said, I briefly held the intention to buy that guitar, but in reality, it's gone to the right man.
Did Dan E. use it in one of his columns?

Re: Vintage guitar rant
i see its just been removed.... by trademe...
Hurdy Gurdy.... some how... and I'm not entirely certain how mind you, an instrument that sounds like someone has shoved a nest of angry hornets into a goose with a kazoo bill and is randomly slapping the poor creature with an accordion.... Sounds amazing.
