Yamaha SA30 - Ugly Duckling
The ugly duckling
The ugly duckling had been exposed to heat or had been in a fire - I don't know but she was in desperate need of some TLC.
So I have been working on this project for the last two and half months and have sort of finished it. There is always something that can be done nicer, better and more professional but the desire to play the duckling was too great. So I will share with you some photos of before (6) and after (7).
I will provide a link to the full story later on.
Hope you like it
Cheers
Sean Next post will show the remaining 3 'before' pics.

Here the next three 'before pics'.
I had actually started on the next pic and had sanded the black side back to natural And now on to the 'after' pics....

Re: Yamaha SA30 - Ugly Duckling
As said, many, many hours spent over the last two months or so transformed the ugly duckling into a blond swan.

Re: Yamaha SA30 - Ugly Duckling
I kinda liked the red and was ready to ask why you'd ditched it, but then I saw the grain in the subsequent photos and understood...

Re: Yamaha SA30 - Ugly Duckling
I did like the cherry red but the sides had been painted badly in black (to conceal the heat damage) and the ugly white pick guard hid the heat damaged section on the top....I kinda liked the red and was ready to ask why you'd ditched it
The nice grain was already visible through the cherry red so I figured it would be a natural finish. The photos don't do the actual appearance justice.
That's my SA60 - you are right, perhaps I should change it to the SA30.I thought it was going to be the one in your avatar.
