Now that's off, it's the perfect opportunity to sand back the body and put on a nice fresh coat of paint. Tidy that mess right up!

It's a rare look at what I've seen others speculate page after page how his guitar was wired. In particular the tone pot which looks like it's wired back to the out socket. I've got no inclination to replicate anything here, just fascinating to see. Not even cloth insulation and what looks like a humble ceramic cap (yellow?). Looks like graphite blocks or something in the cavity ??. He did a lot of his own work on this thing...and a bazillion hours of gigging.

Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...
