Re: Old SG's
Oh yeahhhh....I remember when you were buying that! Now that you mention that guard slot, that's what I saw on a recent post re SGs and eBay. Hopefully this thing is still spinning your wheels Rob. They are such great RnR guitars...esp w/P90s!robnobcorncob wrote:'64 SG Special. 'Sparkling burgundy' refinish. Original pickguard warped and slot cut out on the bottom left to accomodate an earlier larger fully compensated/adjustable wrap-around bridge (Schaller?). The original bridge is in the picture but I have a pigtail wraparound on it currently (thanks Grant!).

Thanks again Grant for your advice when buying it, was a few years ago now. Still gets played often and sounds incredible! Extremely resonant.

That one is a rock machine alright. Great example of a factory issued Gibson that needs nothing except able hands.

Beauties, one and all, Grant. My first real gat was a Junior (first one was a Sears catalog Strat copy, which, of course is not a real guitar ). Not knowing much when I was 16, I got rid of the Junior for an Ibanez Les Paul wannabe .

Spectacular entrance! Welcome.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

A very warm welcome! Nice collection there. Is that a Pigtail on the 64? I was using those until I tried the MojoAxe lightning...worth a shot if you want a fatter sound.thegreengod wrote:Hey Guys. Love the LP Junior.
Tell me more about the Pelham Blue Les Paul/SG - it doesn't look like a Tweedy.
Again, great guitars.
