What is this (Gunn) monster I have unearthed??

Just found this in a shed on the farm. At first glance it seems to be a Classic 50 or whatever (T/B channel 1, T/M/B + footswitch) in a massive case. But there's a whole extra power section slaved into it at the bottom there.

Is this a 1-off / DIY job, or did these actually exist???

That's amazing! Won't say there aren't more of them but I'm old enough to have seen a few Gunn amps; including brand new ones in stores. Never seen that before.

There's a story here, Sherlock.

That's what I thought at first but as far as I can tell it's just a single mono preamp running into two power sections.

My first thought was that it's maybe an early attempt at a 100W amp, sort of a no. 8 wire solution to not having the necessary transformers.

Shit no! Kinda tempted to get it restored. I have zero use for a 100W NMV amp but it's certainly heirloom material.

Actually, now that I've said it a 100W NMV amp sounds fricken glorious :mental:
