For those interested, I used this sanding sealer on top of the stripped body. I wasn't sure what the previous paint work was chemically so the Shellac was a good base coat. It also hilighted all the little scratches etc I needed to work on.

So cool. How many coats is that. Is it just one? How long before you do more coats? And clear coat it?

Two spray sessions, and maybe two coats during each session. Fender only just put enough on to cover up the grain. I've done the same.

Clear coats to follow. I will only very subtly tint it. The colour is damn near perfect as in.

Are you doing the finishing work yourself? I can recommend Trizact pads by 3M. They go down to 5000. Will come up like glass.

Thanks - yes, doing it myself. The weather was great today to spray...I love it when you get the perfect wet coat with no blush.

Looking forward to seeing the end result. Nice. And good to be back on topic. :)
Larrivee 00 Acoustic. FAV Strat for electric. Ibanez SDGR5 for bass. Push for Ableton. When not doing that, 3D CAD for tunnels...
