are you sure thats not poly? the pic of the ding near the control cavity looks like bad poly to me...

Very cool!!! Its interesting how the body protrudes under the neck final frets in the cutaway, where as the modern les Paul's have the cutaway flush with the neck.

Yes, a characteristic of the "budget" level Gibson's of this era. Makes for a much stronger joint plus more meat for tonal transfer. These pickups sound quite PAF like. Honky, clear, woody...with a hint of mouth feel.

KFC is the closest abbreviation that I'm familiar with. Sorry for the noob question.
