Mill Lane. Lewis Roberts Eady and his wife Rosina opened the business in 1884. By 1912, they had a two-storey shop on Karangahape Road. In 1919, they moved to Queen Street.

Fascinating photo. The sight of that mill blows me away. I would have never thought such a structure would've existed in that location.
So that was Mills Lane off what is now Albert St? Liverpool St is steeper than that.
Reminds me of nearby Parnell Rise, with the remaining older architecture, of which I hope is never demolished.

Partington's Mill stood at the end of Mill Lane, in the block bounded by Liverpool Street, City Road, Symonds Street and K Road. It is now the Cordis Hotel site.

Interesting. I see the same photo in part one link but of a much lower resolution. I ll have to ask my MiL where she got her photo from.
When faced with quality, I recognise it every time.
