alanp wrote:That 1590A pedalboard is insane. The precision you must need to drill those is nuts!

The 1/4" jacks look positively elephantine on that board! I suppose they're to space the boxes out so you don't activate three at once? :)
the plugs?
nope.. it's all mogami cable and they're amphenol plugs.. I wanted to be sure I don't have to do it again cos it's such a tight fit. so I went with quality stuff.. the amphenols are a good compromise between high end and price. I could have "past participle of get" the pancake switchcraft ones, but they're outrageously expensive, and the jaycar (or wherever else I've tried) copies of the switchcraft are utter utter rubbish. earth sleeve moving round on the main housing, inner tip doing the same... just such shyte .. I have a bag with half a dozen left in there that I just do not want to use unless it's vital, or I don't care (hence the reason the tuner got them)... but any closer would mean that my waterski jandals would hit two at once... the stagger helps avoid that (the staggered pedals, not my drunken stagger).

Dude, incredibly well executed...and thanks for the surrounding detail. Actually inspiring.

My 9 year old said to me...
'Dad, I wanna design a pedal for you'

As a prolific comic drawer, he created several designs using his pens and colouring pencils...
It was a tough call, but in the end I chose "Dark Zag"... 8) 8) 8)

(Aww kinda cute... I'm very proud... In a fierce super-villian kinda way ;D)
Image was scanned and printed onto white stickerpaper...

more detail at fsb, but suffice to say that this was quite a challenge and a not insignificant achievement.
ross phaser in a 1590a (originally the ross phasers are in the EHX size 1590bb, I then managed to squeeze one into an mxr size 1590b and now by using smd a 1590a).

outs incl an LED on the left to show it's enabled, and the right one pulses with the rate.

and the guts.

Mental like a fox.

Just out of curiousity, Rocky, what would you do wholly in SMD to fit into a 1590A?

thanks.. it's the ross phaser.. it's just so dreamy sounding.... so much nicer than anything else I've made (which in fairness is really only a tri-vibe, phase45, phozor and I think a phase90).. to my ears it sounds just like the maestro, which makes sense since they're both OTA based multi stage phasers.. please don't ask me to explain what that means cos I haven't a clue.
