Having issues with my Barber DD
My Barber Compact DD sounds great when it's going....but right now it isint!
for the last 2 months or more it has needed 2 clicks of the footswitchs to turn it on, sometimes it would switch on but be at half volume, and other times nothing. Now it has got to the point where it won't switch on at all, and I'm assuming it is not true bypass because it doesn't pass signal when in bypass either.
I have put some contact cleaner down the footswitchs but this didn't help.
I would assume this is a footswitch issue but I'm unsure. Everything looks in place inside the pedal.
Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Having issues with my Barber DD
It is true bypass, as evidenced by the switch.
I'm happy to have a look at it for you if you can get it to me. I'm in avondale ak.
Or if you are diy keen and have an iron, can provide some trouble shooting steps.
Sounds like it is either the switch, or maybe power. Not familiar with the pedal. But does the led switch on and off ok? Does it flicker?
2nd thoughts if it isn't working in bypass, it's def. the switch.

Re: Having issues with my Barber DD
Quick read of the barber site. They claim to use solid core wire to the switch. Sometimes solid core doesn't handle the knocks too well it may just be a wire you need to replace. Have you got a meter with a continuity test option?

Re: Having issues with my Barber DD
Also slim chance it could be one of the jacks at fault. Check the two blue wires at the switch to the other end of a cable plugged in. That will tell you

I've got a soldering iron but no multi metre. LED turns off and on as usual. If it was true bypass would it still pass signal if the switch is faulty?

Sounds like a faulty switch, $15 from jaycar for a new one and a bit of time soldering

I think that's the best place to start, should be able to manage this one myself.Cdog wrote:^this. happy to take a look at it for ya sometime if ya like matejeremyb wrote:Sounds like a faulty switch, $15 from jaycar for a new one and a bit of time soldering
