Right, don't bother with Mammoth Electronics kits or guitarpcb pcbs.

Mammoth: took AGES to get here, poorly drilled case meant I can't even fit the PCB into it due to the location of the parts and had missing parts (resistors).
The PCB was a guitarpcb Big Muff Opamp and this has been my third guitarpcb.com pcb. Poor manual meant that there unexplained pads to solder to. The type of etching they used makes it awkward to solder and their grounding style is a complete pain.

I wouldn't suggest buying anything off either company.

Thanks for the heads up as I was thinking of using mammoth next up. How long is AGES? 3 weeks? 6 weeks?
Too many guitars, not enough talent.

6 weeks.

If you want good kits, go for generalguitargadgets. I've been impressed with both their kits and pcbs.

DSE don't have a range these days, they've finally turned into another generic Noel Leeming/Bond and Bond store

Still using my $25 one from Jaycar. 25watts normal, hold the button down and its 100watts. Good for quick thermal recovery :)

My DSE one is awesome. It's one of the ones with a digital readout.

I bought something decent years ago from SICOM and it's been brilliant, no idea of the brand, but get something with a really nice sharp fine point and LOTS of watts so you're not waiting for months for it to warm up 8)

I bought a station from surplustronics a couple of years ago. They don't seem to have it listed anymore though.

This might be worth a look:

Where do people get clear labels? (If they use them) couldn't find any in Warehouse Stationary. Painting big muff green then gonna print off some labels and clearcoat over that
