General noob electronics question:
Can I substitute a 510k ohm resistor for a 470k ohm resistor? Will it matter?
And likewise, a 51k for a 47k?
It's for a TS808 circuit. I could go to JayCar and buy the right ones, but can't be arsed making a special trip if it won't make a difference in the long run.
The 510k is in the input buffer which basically sets a high impedance. 470k will result in slightly lower impedance so you might hear less high end, but you won't likely hear any difference.
The 51k is in the first gain stage. A 47k will result in slightly less gain but again you probably won't hear the difference (118 vs 116 with 51k/47k respectively).

I must try one of those mini footswtich boards on my next build, they make it look so much tidier on the inside. And I imagine makes it a bit easier?
I have hundreds if you'd like some. They're made for true bypass wiring.

Yer, if you have sausage fingers like me they save a heap of time and frustration!
No one ever died of hard work.. but why take the risk..

They are pretty handy. I used one in my one and only PedalPCB build and it worked a treat.
I'd hazard to guess that unless you are an expert at desoldering or used the minimum amount of solder to secure the switch in place, you'd be hard pressed to reuse it without potentially damaging the board if the switch fails for whatever reason. Some of that grey ribbon cable would finish it off nicely however.

I have done it using solder wick and it wasn't too bad. I usually have a few spare boards, so probably wouldn't bother most of the time unless desperate.
Funny you mention the ribbon, I'm up to about the 12th build now over the last few years, and each time I say the same thing... and then never buy any
