futurlec australia are good for parts: http://www.futurlec.com.au/
Just don't get switches from them, they fall apart if you so much as look at them

I've found their switches are fine.. maybe soldering iron on them too long? but their 'economy' audio jacks are total rubbish too.. other components are very good thoughmop wrote:futurlec australia are good for parts: http://www.futurlec.com.au/

I have 3PDT switches, enclosures and jacks, some pots and random other some from time to time.
There's a $50 minimum order if you want it delivered though, 'coz supplying pedal parts isn't really my game.

In the past they've been fine but the last lot of parts I got had 2x spdt toggle switches which were made of cheese They weren't the blue ones like they used to have, changed supplier perhaps?rocklander wrote:I've found their switches are fine.. maybe soldering iron on them too long? but their 'economy' audio jacks are total rubbish too.. other components are very good though

I'm using his medusa power supply setup with 5 regulated outputs and running off an 18V laptop charger, will build a bigger one once I have more pedals

Re: Pedal Building Resources
I have just dropped around $500 on pedal parts today. Should get 8 or so pedals all up plus with a few parts left over. I purchased from four overseas suppliers:
Ebay - 3pdt footswitches
Futurlec Australia - Caps, Transistors, Diodes etch
Smallbear (Sorry Rocky, I just had to do it!) - Caps, Transistors and Knobs
Effectsconnection - Jacks, Enclosures, Pots, this was the big order
The point of this post is that I'm going to compare delivery time and order accuracy (as in: I get what I ordered) as a future reference for builders out there. So an update will be coming in around 2 weeks when all the stuff has arrived.

Too many guitars, not enough talent.

when one places an order on their site, it shows as "entered". you can log in again and see the status.. if it stays as "entered" for more than 3 days (rather than "shipped"), I flick them a friendly email asking if they're waiting on any particular parts, or there's some other reason it's not been changed to "shipped" as yet, and 9 times out of ten it gets shipped that day... then takes about 10 working days to get to NZ via their cheapest mailing option.
if I don't give them an email nudge it can take 6 weeks or more sometimes... pays to say 'hello'
