I got the waterslide deal stuff (lazertran) from 'walter arts supplies' in palmie north. seem to be a lot of them on ebay too now.

I'm looking to buy a Multimeter for helping me build pedals, can someone point me in the right direction? A few cheapies on the DSE website:

I got one from the warehouse.. was either $29.95 or $39.95.
has capacitance meter which is handy... but not picofarad level

all I've used in any of the pedals I've done.

that $15 one will be fine.. but eventually the fact that the probes are moulded in there (as opposed to plugs) will bother you

get a handful of alligator leads too (surplustronics have them)

Make sure you're not touching the leads. It can affect the readings.

yup.. I just used the socket on board cos I couldn't be @rsed unplugging th eleads to change to cap reading

This is best bang for buck in the hobby range... same as the one I use.
Biggest difference is it has 43 ranges AND autoranging, so you don't have to decode the display. Also it comes in a handy case which props it up for use on your bench

Sweet, looks like they have that one in stock at my local store Cheers boys, next part will be figuring out what the output actually means but that's where google helps

I had no idea, but farnell/element14 must have changed their strategy... they now have free shipping on all online orders

minimum purchase of $10 which is way more than reasonable..


so the next bit is, if ya want small, solid mono jacks (very handy for 1590A builds) the lumberg KLMB 3 is ideal..

same, but mouser couldn't supply that particular jack, so when I asked how many I'd have to buy to get free delivery they said $75 worth on the phone,but online orders were free delivery for orders over $10.. blew me away.

I think they're making up for it by raising their prices.. these jacks are a fair price, but the 1590a is 60%odd more expensive than the ones at mouser... and it's exactly the same hammond box too.

to save me mole sniffing my way through the past pages - anyone got a solid source of altertives to hammond boxes?,,
