LED question

Post by Kev77 »

Hi, maybe a dumb question but,
I'm making a pedal for a friend who is legally , but not entirely blind.
His main beef is seeing the pedal,
I thought maybe multiple LEDs around the switch,, like a landing strip at an airport at night.
can you install multiple LEDs?
Can they all run off the same " out" on a pcb designed for the led/s or am I needing to rig some
Other power source for multiple LEDs?

You can use as many as you like, you do increase the chance of a thump on switch on, due to the current change, so separate power could be good, but ,may not be required. The only other issue is the amount of power you will suck, not too good on bat power. Also use low value limit resistors to get maximum brightness, around 400ohm is usually ok for most super brights. And use white or yellow clear lens LEDs to up brightness. Check with your guy what he sees best.post pics

Tube amp and guitar tones straight from 1958… amazing how believable the sounds were back then, even without the modellers...
