True bypass wah

Post by Polar Bear »

Chaps, has anyone here actually true bypassed their wah? I have an old gcb95 that is a tone sucking monster and would like to finally sort that out. I know that their are chaps on TM who will do it for me, but I'd prefer to get it done locally and actually learn how to do it myself.

As such, what bits do you recommend? Switch, jacks? Anything else in particular?

Jaycar is a good source for surprisingly good quality bits, especially their 3PDT stomp box switches :)

You wont need a 3PDT unless you plan on adding an LED..
I done one ages ago, from memory you only need the switch (DPDT) and a few inches of cable.

This site http://stinkfoot.se/archives/546 has the info you need. I used it when bypassing my wah year ago. Plenty of other good wah mods there too.
Too many guitars, not enough talent.
