Just assembled one of these and the damned thing won't work.
The problem is in the small buffer PCB on the back of the stomp switch but
Now that it is assembled I can't trace the circuit.
The main board functions, the input FET buffer on the small PCB does not.
These kits don't come with a schematic diagram!
Anyone else done one of these pedals and got it to work?
Ryan maybe?

Re: Monte Allums OD-308
If all else fails, you could try putting a 3PDT stomp in it and going true bypass. Have you tried a signal probe on it, to see where on the buffer board the signal dies?

I'm pretty sure you can email him. Seems like there was a schematic somewhere, I had wanted one of those... I've got an email to someone, or himself. PM me if you would like me dig it up..

Re: Monte Allums OD-308
I emailed him:
Hi,
I have a problem with a kit I just completed for a client.
I am an experienced electronics technician so there should be no issues due to the kit's assembly.
There is no signal to the OP amp input, it is lost in the small PCB.
I have 9 volts on all 3 leads of the 5457 FET so something is not right thereabouts. (looks like a missing ground)
With the switch soldered in it is impossible to trace the signal path and ground to the small PCB
Do you have a schematic for the pedal?
This would allow me to see what is going on and remedy the fault.
Regards,
Alan Farmer.
His reply:
The buffer circuit was added after the initial design and there is no
schematic. Send me your address and I will send you a new buffer pcb with
parts.
Thanx,
Monte
He says that there is no schematic for the buffer PCB.
If he does send me a new unpopulated pcb I will be able to suss it out.
I realise I can do without the buffer stage but I took on building it for a client and I would like it to work,
after all I am supposed to know what I am doing with electronic stuff ??????
Was hoping someone else had the same issue with this kit.

Already true bypass, the buffer only switches in when the OD is activated.alanp wrote:If all else fails, you could try putting a 3PDT stomp in it and going true bypass. Have you tried a signal probe on it, to see where on the buffer board the signal dies?
