Here's the problem.

Thinking of building something as an option. Anybody have any designs, tips, do's, don'ts to share?

Completely open minded. Can work wood easier than metal though.

Has to be portable; my gear gets lugged around.
Beyond a critical point within a finite space, freedom diminishes as numbers increase. This is as true of humans as it is of gas molecules in a sealed flask. The human question is not how many can possibly survive within the system, but what kind of existence is possible for those who so survive.

get yourself an old pallet, they're often left on the berm outside factories, suit the number of pedals you're using.
So, is that low alcohol or no alcohol at all? mmmm, no alcohol, do you want to try it? Noooooooooo.

Instant solution that probably comes with a case, and as great as the homebuilt board can be, if you're lugging it around you want a decent case for it.
