What wire to use

Sorry if this has been asked before. But I am going to take the plunge and try and build something (specifically this -
http://tonefiend.com/diy/tonefiend-diy- ... -1-part-1/
the instructions are so clear to a fool like me.)
Anyway, my question is, what type of wire should I get? Gauge? Braided, solid?
Cheers

22 AWG solid wire works well in breadboards.

you can use 22 or 24 gauge braided as well, that's what I've used. 22 fits easier into pcb holes, 24 is good for holding its shape once boxed up.

Yeah, through RS Online.

You might find some in places like Super Cheap Auto

I don't recall ever selling braided cable there, not even twin core.

Thanks all. I'll give the 24 braided a go. So somewhere like Jaycar would have that (in Chch)?

Much appreciated, but wont you need them for your pedal builds?

I use 14-16g tinned solid copper wire for ground buss, 18-20g solid copper insulated wire for heater twisted AC pairs and ~24g solid core wire for signal wire, with shielded multi-strand wire cable from input jacks to grids and vol/tone pot wipers to grids.

Solid core wire is easier to shape/bend and get to stay where you put it when you are laying it out against the chassis etc
