Do you need any long press functions? Could you deal with a double tap instead?

I'd use latching switches, they have the nice positive action and the code is about the same in either case.

I'm kinda used to long press for some momentary pedals I've owned (ricochet / freeze etc) so I kinda like it :)

also interested, I have just begun collecting arduino stuff, for no real reason, there is someone dollar reserving a bunch of relays and boards on TM, and I have always liked the idea of nano or tiny integration into pedals. I may end up building a switcher, because I can...

Yup! There's a thread on here somewhere, got another pedal in the works too :)
