Re: A few home brews
A take on the Revv G3 coming along nicely. Powered on first go, and has a punchy growl to it. All 3 modes of aggression have different characters that will be fun to tinker with. A royal diddle to build as so many resistor and cap values and the pcb layout for the quad op amps was tight, but got there with the help of a few ales. Now for a pcb clean and my least fav job of drilling the enclosure.

A little more of a vibrant pink in real life vs the pic, and needs to be labelled but oh well.. the G3 clone is alive!

Nice knobs!

Cheers, luckily they cost nudda as they used to come on some equipment we manufactured many years ago, so I took them and a few other flavours from a similar theme out of the junk pilejeremyb wrote:Nice knobs!

Quite like this one, Wampler Pantheon clone. Very flexible and just a nice sounding drive pedal in a number of the settings. Finding the JRC4580 opamps was a bit of a pain in the noodle, but worth it.

Re: A few home brews
Finished my first fuzz, a Wampler Velvet Fuzz copy. Never had a fuzz before, so no idea what I'm doing when using one. Using the Fat setting is kinda fun, fat and bottoms out in that farty fuzz way.. I don't know any tunes that use this kind of thing, but its fun for annoying the family. The tight is great for sustaining leads, notes seem to ring for ages. I could see me using it for single note stuff.
The names a little tragic, but since it was green and red themed, and the knobs arranged like a tree my lad thought it was fun.

Re: A few home brews
Making progress on my KOT clone. Powered up first time, and even makes sound which is a plus. Not spent any time with it to dial it in, but initially seemed to sound very similar to my Pantheon clone I made a while back. Have since added the battery clip from when these pics were taken, not that I ever use batteries but I thought it would look better given the PCB has a cut out for the 9v.
I have socketed the IC's and all the diodes. I have the proper 1S1588's units in there, but wasn't shelling out for the called for MA856's, so have one side with BA282's and the other with FDH900's to compare.
TBH if I were doing it again, I'd put the switches and trims on the front, as internally is a bit of a pain.
Now, if only I had NippleWrestler's art skills for the enclosure..

Re: A few home brews
Great job, looks really tidy to me. Can't wait to give it a test run if that's still all good!
