I recently got the pedal building bug again and grabbed a couple of boards from pedalpcb.com This is the second one I have built. The first was a Bit Commander clone. This one is a clone of the Earthquaker Devices The Depths. This is the first pedal I've had to really diagnose to get it working. I was getting some horrible sounds at first and couldn't see anything wrong by sight. I learnt how to check the ICs and found that the voltages were all wrong in them. Fixed that but still had the nasty sounds so I built a probe to test the circuit. Took me a few hours but I eventually traced the problem to a couple of bad solder joints. So damned satisfying to get this one running. It's my favourite sounding pedal I've built so far. Here are the insides:
And here it is on my board next to the EQD Bit Commander clone:

Re: EQD The Depths Clone
Nice, I like those PedalPCB boards. Cool enclosure colour, might get one of those for my Revv pedal clone build.
No one ever died of hard work.. but why take the risk..
