Re: show us your home made pedals
Found some photos of some veroboard antics I got up to late last year...
Up first is a Ram's Head BMP - the "47" version where most of the capacitors have the value "47" (of some decimal placing.)
Also scored a bunch of NOS BC239C mil spec (ITT) transistors just like the ones DAM uses
Layout is based on a few gutshots I've collected of the DAM Ram Head... I can see why the guy is not making these anymore...
Flipping headache of a build... I've since wired it up but not boxed yet...
DAM gutshot:
My version:
Custom Fuzzface using GE/SI hybrid (NPN) NOS RUSSIAN/NOS BC118:
Custom Booster with GE/SI clipping diodes inspired by electra distortion/Le Lius etc:

Cheers guys!
I like the Russian GE's, but I'm still working on finding the perfect combination of transistors...Also I think that PNP GE's do generally sound better
but I'm still not sure if thats 100% true or not... which means more testing and building eventually when I get setup again...

Woo! Nice work FB... I love vero, always feels like instant gratification compared to ordering or making a pcb...except for all the offboard wiring.
Hey still keen on one of those old 4558's you discovered when you get time too... but no rush tho

Yeah, its a good feeling when veroboard is working...but its also nice to populate a PCB, thinking shit I just dont have to be thinking about 1/2 a dozen pathways at once...Cdog wrote:Woo! I was soooo close to buying one of those PEAK transistor testers for $100... somehow managed to cool my jets and wonder wtf I was thinking. Would be a nifty tool to sort out the wheat from the chaff with those Russian trannies.
PCB is so lovely, I like just being able to ease my way through and have a working effect pretty quickly. Built a Scarab Deluxe fuzz tonight. I love tone benders so much!
