Thanks for the info. Have previosly done a PR in a head and apart from head height you need to have tank ouput as far away as possible from PT. Else loads of hum.

Re: Deluxe Reverb for MogwaiBoy
The 68 Custom Deluxe Reverb I had had huge reverb hum. I read online "spin the spring tank around 180 degrees" - was a simple procedure so I did it and it mostly fixed the hum. Still gobsmacked at how Fender could let that slip thru to full production.
That was actually a REALLY good sounding amp.

Re: Deluxe Reverb for MogwaiBoy
By the way, I am planning to put a Celestion Creamback 65 in the Marshall CX cab for this amp - at least until I can afford a custom built matching cab from BG. Maybe a vertical 2x12 in Fender blackface style - that'll turn heads

Re: Deluxe Reverb for MogwaiBoy
It does look busy I agree and the DR chassis is smaller than (say) a Vibroverb chassis which enhances the busy look. But it's actually much easier to troubleshoot than some "neater" looking boards (e.g. Tweed Deluxe 5E3) because there are no jumpers hidden under the board. Of course you also need fabulous skill and a circuit diagram

Literally just finished, I made you a lovely combo cab first.... misread clear instructions lol.
So if you fancy a cheap combo cab to go with it... give me a shout I'd even tolexed it.

Re: Deluxe Reverb for MogwaiBoy
Can you convert it into a 1x12 speaker cab? I am, as it just so happens, dithering about what I'm going to plug the head into.
Gosh, where is this going / is this fate. Build it and he will come? (JB, that doesn't mean what you want it to mean).

As long as you don't mind a large front port where the amp face would sit
