I bought this today...
I bought this on Trademe today - but I've got no idea what it is. can anyone shed any light on it?
The guy I got it off thinks it works, but I haven't picked it up yet.

$35
There was no info about it on the auction, just the pic. I was hoping it was worth the risk of buying it with out knowing anything about it.

Looks like a stereo power amp/ valve regulated power supply- can I have it?AiRdAd wrote:I bought this on Trademe today - but I've got no idea what it is. can anyone shed any light on it?

Possibly from an organ
From left to right: 6L6, 6L6, 6SN7, 5U4GB, reg triode?, Filter cap, OD3 reg.
Enormous PT.
I'm guessing there will be another OPT under the chassis, the other sockets will be for 2x 6L6.
Good score!

Nice score
You may need to contact your local power company before firing that thing up, just to advise them of the extra loading from that massive power transformer.
Any way show us some pics of the inside

If you know nothin' about amps, then take it to a sympathetic tech, otherwise check out the PT for short-circuits and fire it up with a light-bulb limiter first. Don't kill yourself

It's probably the valve-tone loving audiophile's wet dream.
You can get the authentic valve tone, while having a choice of eight, that's right, eight different components to burn yourself on! And that's not all! Call in the next twenty minutes, and recieve a second valve-tone loving audiophile's wet dream, of $35 dollar value, for only 10 easy payments of $14.99!
Sorry, couldn't help it. Does it have a date/serial number/model name/maker/country & year of manufacture anywhere?

I haven't had it delivered yet - Tomorrow I'm going to ask anvil amps alan if it is alright to get it sent straight to him - and then go from there. I'll keep you posted on how I get on.sonicfantom wrote:It's probably the valve-tone loving audiophile's wet dream.
