I didn't like it much in a closed back either though but the V30 sounded awesome in scooter13’s blackstar combo. Horses for courses I guess.

Yeah, the V30 certainly has its own flavour going on, which creates the love/hate thing I suppose. The G12H is much more balanced. I think someone earlier used the word 'pretty' to describe it, and as samick as that sounds, I reckon the description is spot-on.
Too many guitars, not enough talent.
